I came up with the idea of creating a devised stage version of Wuthering Heights after hearing a talk on the subject (and its strange, enduring popularity in Japan). When COVID-19 hit, my theatre company had to change gears from the original show we had planned, and Wuthering Heights became the 2020 show.
Because of the novel coronavirus, we had to conceive of a play that could be performed without a live audience, but still performed live online. We also had a rather strictly reduced team working on this show, due to the normal influx of international collaborators being cut off. There were also extra items to coordinate, since this was our first time livestreaming a show and I wanted it to be something more than just pointing a camera at a stage. Producing it was a challenge, directing and performing in it was a challenge (since the actors, camera operators, and crew had to always have ample physical space between them), and broadcasting it was a challenge.
